Advent Christmas Countdown Calendar & Free Printables

Last weekend,  I shared some Advent/Christmas Countdown Calendars with you.  If you missed that post, you can view it here.

I finally finished my own piece and since it’s already the 5th of December and I literally created this in a couple of hours yesterday (and didn't want to spend any more time on it) I decided that I would keep mine more of countdown to Christmas day.

Next year, I may add to the back of the tags.  Maybe fun things for the family to do together each day or I may add scripture, we'll see what next year brings, for now it's a countdown...

So here’s what I came up with. AND the best part?  I didn’t buy anything new for this project.

The most time consuming part of this project was designing the numbered tags. 

But I DO LOVE using my computer as my canvas and designing!  I could sit and design stuff ALL.DAY.LONG!! (and I have, many a days ;)

I’m pleased with how the numbered tags came out. If you like them and want them for yourself they are FREE for you to print out at the bottom of this post.

My boys are excited, they heard me talking about a Christmas Countdown & they were thrilled!  We use to make those paper chains, but it’s been a long time since we did that.

I used an empty frame that I had in storage…

and some jute twine. . .

and simply wrapped it around the frame many times.

This is the back. The jute twine is all one big long piece, tied at the top of the frame and again at the bottom.  You can see the knot in the lower left corner of the frame.

and voila! that’s my version of a Christmas countdown.

ENJOY! You can use these numbered tags so many different ways. How about hanging the tags from a little Christmas tree, or from branches in a pretty vase. Or you can use them to organize things within your home like baskets, bins, boxes, etc.
